More than 7,500 participants across four races took over the streets of Brisbane today (Sunday 13 April) for the annual Tour de Brisbane.
Sponsored by Transurban, the race commenced from the newly opened Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct for the first time.
The event spanned across the city with riders crossing the finish line on Victoria Bridge, marking a milestone moment in Brisbane’s growing reputation as one of the world’s most bike-friendly cities.

The Star Brisbane CEO Daniel Finch said, “Our team and early-rising guests were delighted to see the vibrancy and colour of thousands of cyclists, their families and supporters fill our entertainment precinct this morning.”
“It’s a clear sign that Queen’s Wharf is evolving to become a destination where people come together – to be entertained, to celebrate, to connect and to soak up Brisbane. Today was just the beginning of what’s possible when major events are held in locations within the heart of Brisbane.”
It was Tour de Brisbane’s biggest event yet, with more than 7,500 riders and more than 2,500 families taking part from around Australia and internationally, from across 15 different countries.

Tour de Brisbane raised more than $50,000 for vital causes like The Common Good and other nominated charities, with participants supported by hundreds of volunteers, spectators and community groups lining the course.
“It was fantastic to welcome our biggest field ever this weekend. The Tour de Brisbane is one of the only full closed inner-city rides in the world, and it is a credit to our City, Transurban, Police and our local stakeholders for bringing it to life,” said Tour de Brisbane Race Director, Mike Crawley.
Riders were treated to a truly unique course featuring Brisbane’s iconic routes such as the Legacy Way, Go Between Bridge, and Inner-City Bypass.
With a mix of competitive and family-friendly categories, Tour de Brisbane has become a standout event on Australia’s cycling calendar—welcoming elite athletes, recreational riders and first-time participants alike.
Tour de Brisbane continues to champion Brisbane’s commitment to active transport, sustainability and inclusive community events, while delivering a boost to local businesses and hospitality venues as thousands of visitors flocked to the CBD over the weekend.
The Tour de Brisbane is supported by Brisbane City Council through Brisbane Economic Development Agency and the Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland.
